The structure and content of the professional competence
of the Russian language teacher in a higher technical school

The article describes components of professional communication competence of a Rus-
sian language teacher in a technical university environment. The author distinguishes its
strategic aspects and thoroughly explains the meaning of professional requirements in
terms of knowledge, performance and personality of a Russian language teacher. The
article provides systematised presentation of all the integral elements of the above men-
tioned requirements, both special and general ones.
