© G.V. Ghernogortseva

Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow, 105005, Russia

The author reveals the significance of categories for scientific knowledge and philosoph-

ical understanding of the mission of man and the meaning of life. The author shows how

the philosophy has developed as deep reflection striving to penetrate into the meaning of

life in close conjunction with improving scientific understanding of the world. The author

states that today philosophy and science are striving to achieve increasingly deeper in-

sight into the nature of the man as the subject of all the relations existing in the world.

Keywords:

man, society, science, philosophy, rationality, truth, world, categories,

knowledge, being.
