Simulativeness of a political event: Significance
of J. Baudrillard’s and A. Badiou’s approaches

The article reveals the actual significance of J. Baudrillard’s and A. Badiou’s approach-
es to the analysis of socio-political reality. We consider the problem of simulating the
political activity through the example of organizing rallies, referendums, election cam-
paigns. The main mechanisms of the mass media structures influence on modern events
are described: the irresponsiveness of the news message, the speed and inclusiveness of
the news information, its simulativeness and the substitution of notions. We show the dis-
tinction between genuine and simulated political events.
