Stylistic features in scientific and technical texts

on Engineering

The article studies specific features of scientific texts in engineering. Attention is drawn

to the problem of using stylistic devices in scientific texts. In the paper we describe diffi-

culties of translating metaphors, epithets, and comparisons and give examples of stylisti-

cally coloured expressions from scientific journals and the Internet.
