The article describes the characteristics and difficulties of learning for students with se-
vere lesions of hearing especially getting by these students knowledge in computer sci-
ence and programming skills and work with computer technology. The authors note that
the acquisition of knowledge and skills in computer science forms the students' ability of
logical thinking. The students with hearing lesion at the initial stage of training at the
university almost do not have this ability as well as the ability to engage in dialogue on a
professional level and make responsible decisions. Practical work with computing means
makes students to expand vocabulary and to memorize and use professional terms that
are currently prevalent not only in computer science. The difficulties faced by students
with severe lesions of hearing in the study of computer science are highlighted and meth-
ods for solving these problems are suggested.
