The study of moral preferences of engineering students

The main purpose of the article is to analyze the systems of engineer`s moral values and
to describe the results of this research from theoretical and empirical viewpoints. The
important idea of the empirical research is that it is conducted on a sample population –
the students majoring in engineering. The author analyzes what systems of moral values
the students consider important for an engineer: a conventional morality, ethical plural-
ism, moral absolutism, utilitarianism, hedonism, moral pluralism and how they explain
their choice.
