Resource-based approach to socialization
in sociology as an alternative

The article proves the futility of the established in Russian sociology comprehension of
the personality socialization within the framework of the general pedagogical paradigm.
This paper presents the author's view on the socialization of an individual. We reveal the
essence of the resource-based approach to the theory of the personality socialization in
the context of understanding socialization as the process of organizing the internal struc-
ture of an individual by means of such concepts as the "socialization potential" and "so-
cialization effect”.
