Developing the language competence among
students majoring in engineering in their final year
of foreign language learning

The article describes various types of speech activity at the upper stage of students’ For-
eign Language Teaching. Much attention is devoted to some peculiarities of teaching
materials to develop students’ communicative skills. Basic types of exercises to improve a
dialogue and monologue speech are presented.
