Why should an engineer study philosophy?

The authors challenge pros and cons of philosophical education of engineers in order to
highlight the dual nature of culture as a phenomenon and the subject of culture, try and
understand the role philosophy plays in fostering the culture of mind while educating an
engineer, developing his professional and creative skills. The authors have established a
solid foundation for promoting philosophical research in technical university and inves-
tigated methodological approaches to bringing up an innovative engineer capable of
coping with pressing professional, cultural and ethical issues.
