Development of Semantic Reading Skills of Students majoring in Linguistics

The article examines the issue of teaching reading of fiction to students of Linguistics as an important condition for ensuring personal characteristics that determine their intellectual, emotional and moral development; analyzes the reasons in the decline of a student readership; substantiates value-semantic and dialogical approaches in teaching English language Stylistics. The relevance of the work is determined by the presentation of a methodological approach to achieving the aim through the formulation of a problematic situation of the considered sources of English-language prose in seminars of various genres.
