Interdisciplinary approach to teaching foreign languages in an extralinguistic university

The paper considers essence and principles of the interdisciplinary approach to teaching foreign languages. Feasibility of using this approach is substantiated at all stages of developing a foreign language course in the extralinguistic university. The role of interdisciplinary connections in development of the language and technical skills of future engineers is determined.
