Homo expertus as a modern socio-cultural phenomenon

The article raises the question of Homo expertus nature as a symbol of expert culture of modernity. The author’s understanding of the phenomenon Homo expertus is presented, its constituent lines — Homo expertus ordinarius and Homo expertus publicus with their intrinsic groups of notions are distinguished. The conceptual and semantic content of the expansive interpretations of the term “expert” is analyzed. The difference between the concepts “expert of the people” and “people’s expert”, the meaning of the word “expertocrat” is presented. The author’s view on the phenomenon of Homo expertus, which emerged as a result of the symbiosis of popularization of public opinion and service-centered attitude to reality on the part of citizens, transformed from the ideology of consumption Homo economicus. The state of modern expert culture, in which Homo expertus successfully enjoys the value demand on the market of opinions and services, is characterized. It is concluded that the current expert culture weakly supports the status of the responsible person.
