Methodological traditions and scientist’s methodological culture

The paper analyzes the methodological traditions in science, describes their variety starting from the ancient science, and emphasizes their effect on the formation of the methodological culture of a scientist. In the evolution of modern science, this process has continued since Modern times. The methodological culture of a scientist is formed by his own practical scientific work, as well as by the established research traditions laid down by major scientists and famous philosophers of science, which results in the scientist’s specific methodological preferences and the development of his personal methodological culture. The complex system of modern science and scientific knowledge necessarily lead to methodological pluralism as a positive factor of the development of science.
