Value orientation of scientific knowledge as a defining resource in the knowledge society

The paper considers such features of scientific knowledge as immateriality, unlimitedness, accessibility, elitism, exponential growth, shows the connection between scientific knowledge and wisdom, and indicates the role of wisdom in determining the purpose of applying knowledge. Findings of research show that such purpose is to achieve happiness.
