The paper analyzes the impact of transformations of modern forms of scientific and communication relationships in the context of building an information economy. The basic characteristics of the formation of an innovative society are highlighted: “information society”, “innovative economy”, “economy of knowledge”, “digital economy”, “electronic and digital communications”. As a result of the phenomenological analysis of these concepts, we found a relationship of building a digital economy directly related to the level of development of modern society and scientific communications. This is due to the fact that at the core of knowledge- and information-based economy is information, which, turning into a production force, becomes knowledge and the main value. Scientific and communication relationships are necessary for the development of scientific knowledge and consequently, innovative products that are the practical result of this knowledge. The paper examines the influence of modern information and communication technologies on the development of scientific knowledge. The formation of modern society, whose main goal is innovative development, has qualitatively transformed the traditional organization of research activities and the scientific community as a whole. The main negative trend of these transformations is the distortion of the traditional moral and ethical principles of the scientific community
