P.A. Sorokin’s sociology of revolution: a way from local to global comprehension of phenomenon

The article describes the P.A. Sorokin‘s sociological concept of revolution. Sources and evolution of his views are considered, basic periods of Sorokin’s revolutiology formation are outlined. The relevance of P.A. Sorokin’s ideas and the possibility of using his teachings for the explanation of modern phenomena are analyzed.
