The article describes the new approach to the study of such concepts of linear algebra as the basis and dimension of linear space. The order of introduction and definition of these concepts has been slightly changed. This approach is simpler and at the same time more rigorous, which contributes to a better understanding of the basic concepts and the entire course of linear algebra by students.
