The paper analyzes the main ideological paradigms formed in historical development of the Western civilization, as they determine the human attitude towards nature: human exceptionalism paradigm, human liberation and new ecological paradigm. It shows that in the era of scientific and technological revolution, formation and development of a new ecological paradigm, the problem of human moral responsibility for nature and establishment of harmonious relations with it is becoming more urgent. This problem should be solved by facilitating the ecological ethics (ecoethics) as a result of the interdisciplinary synthesis of ethics and ecology. The paper studies causes of the ecological ethics emergence, its main problems, sections and tasks. Ecosystem organization principles, such as ecological interdependence, ecological processes cyclicity and ecosystem flexibility are considered. It is shown that ecological ethics is based not only on the idea of mutual respect between people, but also on a concern for well-being of the future generations, biosphere preservation as a common home, where humans and other living species are coexisting. The paper concludes that the new ecological worldview paradigm is based on the ecological ethics and could be able to ensure sustainable development of the humanity, i.e. preserving stable and favorable ecological situation for human life during the unlimited time period.
