Science as Duty and Defense: Transformation of the Scientist’s Ethosunder Conditions of “Mobilization Science”

The transformation of the normative and value foundations of scientific activity under the conditions of science functioning in the so-called mobilization regime is examined. The subject of the analysis is the change in the professional ethos of the scientist in the context of the integration of scientific research into the needs of the defense-industrial complex of the Russian Federation. The aim of the study is a philosophical reflection on how the mobilization character of science affects the understanding of scientific autonomy, responsibility, and the social role of the scientist. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the transformation of the professional identity of the scientist, for whom scientific activity gradually acquires the features of duty, a form of responsible service.
