The paper notes that in the modern philosophical and religious discourse the difference between such concepts as happiness, joy and bliss is not obvious. From the point of view of establishing mutual understanding between different worldview positions, convergence of meanings of the concepts under consideration could be useful, but their complete identification would lead to the loss of the original meanings richness. The paper shows that proximity of the concepts of happiness, joy and bliss in the modern philosophical and religious discourse does not mean their identity. It substantiates the conclusion about the need to take into consideration the differences in the original intentions of understanding the concepts of happiness, joy and bliss in religious and philosophical culture. Clarification of the original meanings makes it possible to identify the essence of ontological, anthropological, and ethical differences in the worldviews.
