Bologna process in Russia: problems and prospects

Restructuring the higher education in Russia revealed a number ofproblems, first of all due to joining the Bologna process. Since 2010 according to the Bologna process concept and its ruling documents Russian higher education has moved to two-tier system of education: Bachelor's programme and Master's programme. This restructuring has required the changes in the entire higher education syllabus design. Beside the emerged problems of revising the academic workload and competence requirements, etc., joining the Bologna process has expanded the academic mobility for students as well as for faculty members. Specialists and researches evaluate the current situation and higher education perspectives differently. The opportunities and future directions of further Russian higher education integration into the European professional education system are considered in the article.
