It demonstrates specificity of the existential approach in his work and the obvious and hidden philosophical meanings embedded in his prose. Based on materials of the research literature, the paper analyzes key existential categories in the Platonov worldview: life, existence, man, his essence, freedom and position in the world. It analyzes the most famous works by Platonov from the point of view of the existential philosophy and compares their various semantic fields.
