Based on a number of archival and scholarly sources, an analysis of the architectural appearance of the city of Voronezh after the expulsion of Nazi invaders in January 1943 was carried out. The specificity of the creative method of socialist realism is identified, and its influence on the architectural distinctiveness of the postwar city was revealed. On the example of several architectural monuments of Voronezh with different functional and aesthetic characteristics, stylistic transformations, their causes and features, as well as factors that influenced the change or preservation of architectural style during the restoration of buildings in each specific case were examined.
