The features of humanities teaching at a technical college are considered using Massachusetts Technological Institute as an example. The priorities in training, students' academic workload in the study of humanities, especially the US approach in teaching these disciplines at universities are analyzed. The importance of interdisciplinary research in modern science is emphasized. The significance of combination humanities, naturalscience and technological disciplines is revealed. The practical recommendations concerning borrowing some of the MIT approaches to the humanities are given.
