The study shows that radical conceptual restructuring is currently taking place in cognitive science, new concepts are emerging and intensively developing, one of which is the concept of embodied, embedded and enacted cognition. It is substantiated that essentially this conceptual restructuring means a scientific revolution. The study considers new concepts and ideas of embodied cognition, the synergy of the subject and the object of cognition, their co-emergence, the human mind as a synergistic tool, embeddedness of the cognizing subject in environment, enactivism as a new form of constructivism. The research demonstrates that these concepts have something in common with some concepts of the modern theory of complex self-organizing systems, and this conceptual intersection is fruitful for both fields of scientific knowledge
