The paper focuses on some cornerstone principles of building classical sociology of the ΧΙΧ century. The ideas of H. de Saint-Simon, A. Comte, H. Spencer, E. Durkheim were reconstructed from the historical and philosophical point of view. Findings of the research show the influence of the scientific rationality model stated by G. Galileo and I. Newton on the classical social theory; among the key characteristics of the latter we marked «structural» interpretation of social reality, quantitative analysis methods, as well as an ideal of value-based neutral research
