The article presents criticism of the concept of personalism. According to the concept the system of perceptive-objective activity and social relations serves as the immediate bearer of mental (psychic) phenomena. It is shown that brain neurodynamic systems are such a bearer, and perceptive-objective activity is one of the conditions for the adequacy of sensory cognition. The weakness of the concept of extended psyche, widespread in Anglo-American philosophy, is revealed. The supporters of the concept recognize the existence of mental phenomena in the sign systems used by people now. It is substantiated that translational codes as systems of external signs do not contain mental components and do not transfer them, but cause the latter in subjects possessing sign meanings.
