Imperial Moscow Technical School during the First World War (1914–1918): review of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University historical sources

The paper considers a particularly significant period in the IMTS existence from 1914 to 1918, when the entire education system was rebuilt due to Russia’s participation in the First World War. The published historical sources about the IMTS activities during the First World War were systematized and summarized based on the authentic historical materials stored in the Bauman Moscow State Technical University library and museum. The gradual process of the sources accumulation associated with the changing stages in the national history was identified and described. It is concluded that the source base systematization allows not only analyzing the School activities during that period, but also to note that IMTS made a significant contribution to defense of the country and training the highly qualified engineering personnel in the wartime.
