Impact of the United States — Japanese relations on the Entente’s intervention in the Far East

The political relations between the United States and the Japanese Empire during the Russian Civil War of 1918–1922 and foreign intervention in the Far East are examined. On the basis of documents of the time, the economic and political goals of the intervention, the main events during which the Japanese–American contradictions arose, as well as the consequences of these conflicts are studied. The relationship between the leadership of the Entente countries and the leaders of the White movement in the Far East is considered. It is concluded that Japan and the United States during the intervention pursued their own interests, which led to a confrontation between the two powers and further influenced the balance of power in the Asia–Pacific region.
