The peasantry of the republics in the Volga-Vyatka region during the Great Patriotic War (labor factors)

The problem of motivating farm labor during the World War II is examined. The author focuses on the structure of motivation, patriotism as the main component of labor in wartime conditions and changes in work incentives at the end of the war due to organizational and economic weakening of collective farms in the region and severe food situation prevailing in many villages of the autonomous republics in the Volga-Vyatka region. When writing the article, the author used unpublished archival sources, mainly the materials from plenums of regional Parties of the republics in the Volga-Vyatka region.
