Transhumanism and biotechnology have been analyzed as interrelated phenomena shaping the agenda of contemporary society. Transhumanism was considered as the pursuit of the purposeful enhancement of human capabilities through biotechnological solutions. The probable social and ethical effects of such a trajectory were identified. An overview of the current discourse on transhumanism and biotechnology was presented, and reflections on the prospects for humanity in the context of accelerated technological development were offered. A projection of the possible implementation of transhumanist ideas through biotechnology was proposed, with both emerging opportunities and the risks for society and the individual being highlighted.
