About problems in teaching English phonetics in engineering universities

Some problems in teaching English phonetics in Russian engineering universities are considered in the article, and some techniques are described. The author proposes her own non-traditional method of explaining the articulation of English sounds based on the comparison of English and Russian sound articulation. The article may be used in teaching phonetics by English teachers as well as by Russian learners of the English language.
