Teaching emotive monologue speech to engineering students in professional communication contexts

The paper presents the rationale for teaching emotive monologues as part of the communicative competence of engineering students. The significance of this aspect for the professional context is justified. The author presents a set of requirements to the learning activities designed to form the appropriate communication and linguistic skills and abilities. The paper contains sample activities used in the ESP course at Bauman MSTU.
