The philosophical legacy of A. Schweitzer and N.A. Berdyaev was examined as that of prominent representatives of European and Russian philosophical thought of the first half of the 20th century, as well as that of V.V. Bibikhin as a representative of Russian philosophy at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. Their ideas are compared, the main similarities and differences are identified, and the key features and characteristics of the cultural crisis reflected in their works are determined, along with the ways of overcoming this crisis proposed in their concepts. It is concluded that the contemporary state of culture was characterized by each of the philosophers as a crisis. It is shown that among the significant features or “symptoms” of the cultural crisis, excessive busyness and overload of modern individuals are identified, along with the domination of consciousness by a continuous flow of information, which continues to increase due to the development of modern information technologies. Constant involvement in numerous local everyday events is also emphasized, which, among other things, leaves no room for the realization of creative potential and for turning to eternal and authentic cultural values. The main leitmotif of the proposed ways out of the crisis is identified in each philosopher’s concept: the necessity of returning to the spiritual and moral foundations of human existence, the primacy of the spiritual over the material, and the priority development of creative potential both in the individual and in society as a whole.
